NWTC Students Participate In Career Exposure Week

Over 200 Northwest Technology Center students participated in Career Exposure Week Nov. 12-16. On Tuesday and Wednesday, Nov. 13 and 14, NWTC students spent time touring or job shadowing in businesses in Northwest Oklahoma. NWTC in Alva is also hosting its annual 6th Grade Career Fair on Friday, Nov. 16 and NWTC’s Fairview campus hosted area 8th graders for tours.

Colt Shaw, Assistant Superintendent on the Fairview campus stated that NWTC instructors have been busy identifying tours and job shadowing experiences for individual students based on their respective career goals. According to Jeremy Eaton, Assistant Superintendent on the Alva Campus of NWTC, “Our students are gaining valuable knowledge about careers that they are interested in and maybe some that they are not. We appreciate all of the businesses who provided the opportunity for our students to job shadow.”

Career Exposure Week is sponsored by the Oklahoma Works organization.
