FRMC Honored With CareerTech Award

Fairview Regional Medical Center (FRMC) was honored as a Partner for Progress at the Oklahoma Association of Career and Technology Education (OKACTE) recognition event held this week in Edmond.  FRMC was nominated for the award by Northwest Technology Center (NWTC) in recognition of their training partnership.

NWTC and FRMC have been working together for over 25 years.  This collaborative relationship has helped nurture the training objectives for FRMC employees and has served as a training location for decades of Northwest Technology Center students.

Although the needs of healthcare employees are always evolving, NWTC and FRMC are always working together to meet the training needs of the hospital staff.    Some of the training topics that have been provided include:  Safety Training, New Employee Orientation, various leadership training topics and many professional and personal development topics.  Other training topics have included:    Certified Medical Aide / Certified Nurse Aide / Licensed Practical Nurse & other health related topics, TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course), and ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course).   Fairview Regional Medical Center has also served as a clinical site for many Northwest Technology Center students through the years.

Fairview Regional Medical Center has been a partner with Northwest Technology Center through the years by supporting the Northwest Technology Center Foundation and being a partner in many events held at the technology center.

“We can always count on Northwest Technology Center to provide high quality training, from the more mundane recertification classes to the creative What If classes. They have and will continue to be a vital partner in the success of keeping high quality healthcare available locally.” According to Roger Knak, Administrator/CEO, Fairview Regional Medical Center.

FRMC, then called the Fairview Hospital, opened in 1960.  In the fifty plus years since, there have been multiple additions and renovations to the hospital, the largest renovation was completed in 2007.   Fairview Regional Medical Center now offers a comprehensive line of healthcare solutions, diagnostic testing and treatments. Fairview Regional Medical Center is pleased to be a partner with the communities of Major County and contribute to the health and wellness of its citizens.

Fairview Regional Medical Center is the only Oklahoma recipient of the National Association of Development Organizations Impact Award for their Physical Therapy Department.   The award is given in recognition of their creative approaches to advancing regional economic development and improving quality of life.
