Fairview Auto Tech ASE Renewal

Fairview Auto Tech ASE Renewal

Northwest Technology Center’s Automotive Technology Program at the Fairview campus has received renewal of the Auto Service Excellence (ASE) Training Program accreditation by the ASE Education Foundation. Every five years, the program renews its accreditation as a provider for Auto Service Technology curriculum.  This allows students in this program to be eligible to test for entry level ASE certifications which include:   Automatic Transmission/Transaxle, Automobile Service Technology, Brakes, Electrical/Electronic Systems, Engine Performance, Engine Repair, Heating and Air Conditioning, Maintenance and Light Repair, Manual Drive Train and Axles and Suspension and Steering.

The automotive training program participates in a rigorous evaluation by the ASE Education Foundation. Nationally, accepted standards of excellence in areas such as instruction, facilities, and equipment were used during the evaluation process.

According to Michael Coley, ASE Education Foundation President. “This program

increases cooperation between local education and industry leaders and gives

added assurance that the students completing the program at Northwest Technology Center will be employable entry-level technicians. As a result of the quality education provided by NWTC, the motoring public will benefit as properly trained and certified technicians join the work force.”

Upon completion of the evaluation, Northwest Technology Center’s accreditation on the Fairview campus was renewed and the excellence in instruction will continue.  The ASE Education Foundation is a non-profit, independent organization that evaluates and accredits entry-level technician training programs against standards developed by the automotive industry.

Bobby Watson, Automotive Technology instructor on the Fairview campus added, “During the past few months, we have worked closely with the ASE Education Foundation to make certain that our program would continue to meet strict industry standards. Students will be assured of a quality education, and shop owners will be assured of getting quality job applicants.”
