Testing Notes:
Students are not allowed to talk, print the test questions, or have contact with their instructors during the exam. Any violation of these rules will result in disqualification.
The entire test is accessible throughout the test session. Please review the use of scroll bars with competitors prior to testing and remind them NOT to close the testing window (do not click on the “X”!). Closing the test window terminates the test without scoring and may disqualify the competitor in this event. Should you have problems submitting the test, do not close the test window. Contact state BPA office immediately.
Students should only have access to the test they are registered to take and the Oklahoma BPA Merit Scholar Exam. The Merit Exam is optional, but students can be recognized on stage at SLC if they do well. We encourage all students to take this exam, but it is not required.
All online exams do have a time limit. The testing software will not allow them to go over the specified time limit.
Although a competitor’s test will be scored upon submission, the score will not be available to the competitor or the advisor. For some contests, students who have taken exams to pre-qualify will be notified as soon as possible after testing closes.
Reference Materials:
The national WSAP Guidelines outlines if reference materials are allowed and which type are allowed for each exam. We highly recommend that you download a copy for your reference in case any questions arise. You can locate the WSAP Guidelines on our website at https://www.bpaok.org/chapter-resources. There is a combined document designed for the secondary and post-secondary divisions and a separate document for the middle level division.
In most cases, if reference materials are allowed it will state: Published and/or unpublished non-electronic written reference materials. Here are the definitions to help you understand what this means:
• Published Reference Materials (Not created by the competitor) – All reference materials that are formally published through a professional publisher or industry professional. (Examples include textbooks, manuals, journals, magazines, publications with ISBN numbers, etc.)
• Unpublished Reference Materials (Created by the competitor) – All reference materials that are not formally published through a professional publisher or industry professional. (Examples include handwritten notes, sample source code created by the competitor, sample charts, sample calculations or formulas, etc.)
• Absolutely NO previous BPA tests, questions from BPA tests, including answer keys are allowed.
No reference materials are allowed with OPEN events.
