Welcome to the Career Center of the Northwest Tech Center Alva Campus.
The Career Center at the Northwest Tech Alva Campus provides several services to current and potential students. Visits to the Career Center are a scheduled part of program coursework at NWTC. Each student attends the Career Center for at least 45 minutes per week. The Career Center Coordinator also assists students with job readiness activities such as preparing resumes, job applications, cover letters and interview skills. Resumes created in the Career Center are created and stored online through OK Career Guide and other cloud based services so the resumes are available to students after they leave NWTC. The Career Center Coordinator is also available to students after they complete their training at NWTC for job search support. Students develop a plan of study for their future and have the opportunity to earn a Career Readiness Certificate through ACT WorkKeys testing. Through self-paced, customized programs, the Career Center provides assistance in math, reading, language, basic competencies, and personal finance/financial literacy. The Career Center Coordinator is the testing liaison for Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO competitive event testing, Advanced Placement testing, National Health Science Assessment, ASE Certifications as well as many more assessments and certifications.
