NWTC Student Places Second At State Science Fair

April Kendrick, won second place in Chemistry Division I, at the Oklahoma State Science and Engineering Fair in Ada on April 1. She is a Fairview High School senior and a BioMedical Sciences II student at Northwest Technology Center. Kendrick’s project, Breaking Hair, examined the claims of different hair care products to determine the accuracy of assertions that they will protect hair from thermal damage due to hair straighteners and flat irons.

Kendrick has received a scholarship offer from Northwestern Oklahoma State University for $3000 and a scholarship from Southwestern Oklahoma State University for $7000. She plans to attend college next fall and eventually attend Medical School. Her instructor is Shawn Cusack.
