Paramedic – Alva Campus


The Paramedic program prepares students to perform a comprehensive patient assessment and advanced emergency procedures in the pre-hospital setting.  Students are trained in academic theory and a variety of technical skills to aid in the  process of autonomous decision making.

Who can enroll:  Adult students must have EMT Credential and a high school diploma or GED.

Certifications/Credentials: Students in the Paramedic program are eligible to earn WorkKeys Certifications through the Career Center.  Certifications are also available from the Oklahoma Department of Labor.

Accreditations: NWTC is accredited by the Oklahoma State Department of Education, The Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education, Oklahoma Department of Health and the Oklahoma Department of Labor.
The Kiamichi Tech Paramedic Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of the Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions (CoAEMSP).

Pre-Requisite:  Students must have  WorkKeys Scores of 5 or higher prior to class start date.

Financial Assistance is available to adult students who qualify. Prices listed above are per year.  The Paramedic program duration is 16 months.

Schedules Available:
Next class runs from February 4, 2025 – June 30, 2026 and meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 9 am – 4:20 pm.

*Clinical Preceptorship/Capstone Hours are completed on non classroom days.  They will be scheduled with the BIS Health Coordinator &/or internship site.  Clinic hours begin approximately 7 months in the program. 220 hours of field internship & capstone will take place in the final 3 months of the course.
