The Structural and Pipe Welder career option covers fundamental of SMAW, GMAW, & GTAW welding processes, plasma arc, air carbon arc, and oxy-fuel cutting processes, metal preparation and heat treatments, as well as, workforce staging, reading blueprints, and welding detail drawings. Students will be engaged in hands-on training in the shop approximately 70% of the time.

- Reading, language and math skills at the 10th grade level or above
- An ability to compute percentages, measurements and simple fractions
- A basic knowledge of general science

Certifications/Credentials: Students in the Welding Technology program are eligible to earn WorkKeys Certifications through the Career Center. Certifications through the Career Center. Certifications can also be obtained from the Oklahoma Department of Labor after completing a supervised certified weld test.
