Applicants must show need for assistance above grants, scholarships, etc.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Amount:<\/strong>\u00a0Varies<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Deadline:<\/strong>\u00a0Each technology center district may impose its own deadline for its respective students. Students at the NWTC Alva Campus must have applications completed by February 10, 2025 unless additional time is granted by Mrs. Sonja Williams.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prior to starting\u00a0 the Application, students should download and complete the\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/nwtech.edu\/alvacc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/Otha-Grimes-Francis-Tuttle-Scholarhip-Worksheet-081722.docx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Otha Grimes Worksheet<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>For students:<\/strong>\u00a0 Students should then download the\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/oklahoma.gov\/content\/dam\/ok\/en\/careertech\/about\/foundation\/otha-grimes-scholarship-instructions-student-120523.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Instructions<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>before completing the<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/ctyou.org\/course\/view.php?id=5750\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Application.<\/a><\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The\u00a0<strong>Enrollment Key<\/strong>\u00a0for Northwest Tech students is\u00a0<strong>wh4mpn<\/strong>\u00a0and it is to be entered in the big box on the first page of\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ctyou.org\/\">CTYOU.org<\/a>\u00a0labeled Enrollment Code.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Information needed in the&nbsp;past&nbsp;included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>All sources of financial aid income and scholarships.\u00a0You may need to get this information from Mrs. Sonja Williams, Financial Aid Director.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The amount of tuition and fees for your program which is dependent on full time or part time status. Tuition and fees is listed on the NWTC website at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nwtech.edu\/student-services\/financial-aid-tuition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/nwtech.edu\/student-services\/financial-aid-tuition\/<\/a>\u00a0or looking at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nwtech.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/NWTC_COA2425.Updated.6.11.2024.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Cost of Attendance information<\/a>. Remember if you are a\u00a0 full time student, you will divide the cost in half to get the cost for one semester. If you attend half day for two years, you will take the cost and divide by 4 to get the cost of one semester. <br>**Practical Nursing students have a different situation so this doesn&#8217;t apply to PN**<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mileage to and from the Alva Campus.There will be 92 days of instruction in the Spring semester for all students except those in Practical Nursing.\u00a0 Practical Nursing students need to use estimates from Mrs. Williams if you are not on the Alva campus part of the semester.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The NWTC Alva Campus calendar is available at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nwtech.edu\/about-nwtc\/calendars\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/nwtech.edu\/about-nwtc\/calendars\/<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will have to calculate the number of miles you drive from home to the Alva Campus (1801 11th Street, Alva, OK) if you wish to submit mileage. Remember that is doubled if you drive to and from within a day. It is easiest to use Mapquest \u2013\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mapquest.com\/directions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.mapquest.com\/directions<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 to calculate this and then it is verified and not an estimate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You will use the IRS Standard Mileage Rates for 2026 to calculate mileage which is currently $0.7025 for 2026.\u00a0 So you would take # of days x miles per day round trip x 0.725 to get the amount you are submitting for mileage (if you choose to include mileage).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Items you may consider including into the expenses section include daycare, rent, and any special clothing or equipment (but you must be able to provide proof of payment).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Otha Grimes \u2013 Francis Tuttle Memorial Scholarships \u2013&nbsp;https:\/\/oklahoma.gov\/careertech\/about\/foundation\/scholarships.html This scholarship is available to&nbsp;adult&nbsp;students who are Oklahoma residents enrolled in a program at a Career and Technology Center.&nbsp;Applicants must submit applications online.
