Do not log in to any Apple iCloud, Mac Mail or other personalization accounts except Google Drive (Sheets, Docs, etc.) and Gmail. Everyone uses the same Mac user account so\u00a0please do not customize the user account to your settings which means do NOT add you Google profile setting<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0Login to gmail and then go to Apps\u00a0 icon then select Google Drive<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>or a profile could automatically be created for you and the bookmarks may not be available to the next person.<\/p>\n

Pathful Login Instructions<\/h3>\n

Staff and students of the Northwest Tech Campus \u2013 Alva may access their user accounts at\u00a0https:\/\/app.pathful.com\/login\/2056<\/a>.<\/strong>\u00a0Usernames (except for a few students) will be your firstnamelastname. Your password will be a six digit number representing your birthdate such as 020503 if you were born on February 5, 2003. What is Pathful?<\/h3>\n

Pathful offers engaging career exploration resources and tools all on one user-friendly website.\u00a0Interest assessments provide the user with more insight into themselves and help to guide the career exploration process. Once logged in on Pathful, users can access\u00a0Assignments in the bottom left area of the home page as well as Assessments, Goals, and Postsecondary Plans links.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Assignments<\/span><\/h3>\n

Follow Mrs. Frascht’s instructions to complete the following Assignments.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Goal Setting <\/strong><\/p>\n

  1. Set one short term and one long term goal. At least one of those needs to be school or work related.\u00a0 Use SMART goals!<\/li>\n
  2. Complete the rest of the Goal Setting Assignment and submit it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Careers and YOUR Interests <\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. Create a PDF of your results.\u00a0 Save the PDF on the desktop in your folder.<\/li>\n
    2. Upload to the Shared Google Drive folder I made for you.<\/li>\n
    3. Print a copy of your Career Interest results and put in your notebook.<\/li>\n
    4. Complete the rest of the assignment and submit the assignment<\/li>\n
    5. Select up to 3 careers as your favorites. – Ask how to do this.<\/li>\n
    6. Select one career and complete the Career Journal for that Career. – Ask how to do this.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Building Your Cover Letter\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

      1. You will be pretending to apply for the position advertised at www.autojobs.com.<\/li>\n
      2. Create a copy of your resume and then delete all but the header.<\/li>\n
      3. Use the new document with your header to create a cover letter for the job you have chosen.<\/li>\n
      4. Create a cover letter.\u00a0 Use the examples of formatting posted on\u00a0https:\/\/nwtech.edu\/alvacc\/cover-letters\/<\/a> if needed.<\/li>\n
      5. Create an envelope that could be used to send your cover letter.<\/li>\n
      6. Complete the rest of the Cover letter assignment and submit it.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

        Many companies require the applicant to complete a job application in order to be considered as a candidate for that job.\u00a0 Applications may need to be completed online or downloaded then completed using software such as MS Word or Adobe Acrobat.\u00a0 Some applications can be sent electronically while other companies prefer a printed copy.\u00a0 The\u00a0Best Way to Write a Resume by Job Genius video<\/a>\u00a0provides tips for completing a job application.\u00a0 Completed the printed job application selected by Mr. Rader.\u00a0 Put in your notebook when finished.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

        What kind of first impression you make and how you perform during a job interview will determine if you get the job or not.\u00a0 You don’t get a second chance for a first impression.<\/p>\n

        Compose an email to alvacc@nwtech.edu in which you pretend you are thanking the person addressed in your cover letter for the\u00a0 job interview.\u00a0 If you did not have a name for the person prior to the interview, address your email to Mr. Isenbart.\u00a0 Be sure to cc yourself so you can print the email and put in your notebook (ask me how to cc yourself if needed).<\/p>\n

        Open your Cover letter that should be saved in your Alvacc folder in Google Drive Shared with me.\u00a0 Open MS Word and then ask Mrs. Frascht for help creating an envelope for your letter.<\/p>\n

        Certifications and Badges<\/h3>\n

        Once a student earns a credential within an approved Oklahoma CareerTech program, a technology center representative enters the information into the CareerTech Information Management System. Once a month, CareerTech will gather all the information entered in the past month to issue digital badges through Credly.\u00a0 Students who receive badges can create accounts so they can keep all their badges — even ones issued by others, such as Microsoft or Certiport — in one place. They\u2019ll also be able to download badges and attach them to emails or documents, send them directly to employers or share them on social media platforms.\u00a0\u00a0CareerTech will be able to track how many digital badges have been issued, claimed and shared, which will give the system information that will help ensure its programs are aligned with industry needs.<\/p>\n
