{"id":9027,"date":"2025-01-28T13:50:38","date_gmt":"2025-01-28T19:50:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nwtech.edu\/alvacc\/?p=9027"},"modified":"2025-01-28T13:50:38","modified_gmt":"2025-01-28T19:50:38","slug":"great-plains-association-for-college-admission-counseling-gpacac-scholarships-due-2-15-25","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nwtech.edu\/alvacc\/great-plains-association-for-college-admission-counseling-gpacac-scholarships-due-2-15-25\/","title":{"rendered":"Great Plains Association for College Admission Counseling (GPACAC) Scholarships ~ Due 2.15.25"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>GPACAC\u00a0 Student Scholarship<\/h3>\n<p>GPACAC is proud to fund<strong class=\"x-el x-el-span c1-1j c1-1k c1-b c1-8o c1-3w c1-4i c1-8p\">\u00a0thirteen\u00a0<\/strong>annual scholarships each year.\u00a0<strong class=\"x-el x-el-span c1-1j c1-1k c1-b c1-8o c1-3w c1-4i c1-8p\">Ten\u00a0<\/strong>scholarships will be awarded to students attending high school in the three GPACAC membership states of Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma and\u00a0<strong class=\"x-el x-el-span c1-1j c1-1k c1-b c1-8o c1-3w c1-4i c1-8p\">three<\/strong>\u00a0scholarships will be awarded to college students from our membership states planning to transfer to a different post-secondary institution. Please see the scholarship information below for more details on each opportunity. All awards are intended to help pay for tuition, housing, fees and\/or books. Scholarship recipients will be notified of the decision by email. These scholarships are a one-time award and will be mailed to students&#8217; postsecondary institution of choice.<\/p>\n<p>Six scholarships of $1,000 each are awarded each year. Students must meet all the following scholarship requirements listed below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em class=\"x-el x-el-span c1-1j c1-1k c1-b c1-8o c1-3w c1-1w c1-8p c1-8q\">Be a member of the Class of 2025<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em class=\"x-el x-el-span c1-1j c1-1k c1-b c1-8o c1-3w c1-1w c1-8p c1-8q\">Attend high school\/home school in Nebraska, Kansas, or Oklahoma<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em class=\"x-el x-el-span c1-1j c1-1k c1-b c1-8o c1-3w c1-1w c1-8p c1-8q\">Have a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em class=\"x-el x-el-span c1-1j c1-1k c1-b c1-8o c1-3w c1-1w c1-8p c1-8q\">Complete the application form, including the essay on the topic below<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong class=\"x-el x-el-span c1-1j c1-1k c1-b c1-8o c1-3w c1-4i c1-8p\">Essay topic:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>What is a lesson you learned during high school and how will that lesson impact your future?<\/p>\n<p><strong class=\"x-el x-el-span c1-1j c1-1k c1-b c1-8o c1-3w c1-4i c1-8p\">Important Dates:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Scholarship application open October 15th and close February 15th. The scholarship amount is $1,000. Students must meet all the following scholarship requirements listed below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em class=\"x-el x-el-span c1-1j c1-1k c1-b c1-8o c1-3w c1-1w c1-8p c1-8q\">Be a member of the Class of 2025<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em class=\"x-el x-el-span c1-1j c1-1k c1-b c1-8o c1-3w c1-1w c1-8p c1-8q\">Attend high school\/home school in Nebraska, Kansas, or Oklahoma<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em class=\"x-el x-el-span c1-1j c1-1k c1-b c1-8o c1-3w c1-1w c1-8p c1-8q\">Have a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 and above (or equivalent)<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em class=\"x-el x-el-span c1-1j c1-1k c1-b c1-8o c1-3w c1-1w c1-8p c1-8q\">Have completed a minimum of 100 community service hours from freshman year to date of application<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em class=\"x-el x-el-span c1-1j c1-1k c1-b c1-8o c1-3w c1-1w c1-8p c1-8q\">Complete the scholarship application, including an essay, on the topic below<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong class=\"x-el x-el-span c1-1j c1-1k c1-b c1-8o c1-3w c1-4i c1-8p\">Essay topic<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>Describe a specific community service experience. How did the experience affect you?
