  1. Is your name spelled correctly on the list above?<\/li>\n
  2. My name is Mrs. Frascht – pronounced like Frost.<\/li>\n
  3. Always check in with your program instructor before coming to Career Center, especially if your Career Center session is at the beginning of the day or immediately after lunch.<\/li>\n
  4. Seating – pick a seat to sit at all semester.\u00a0 No changing computers thru the semester if possible.<\/li>\n
  5. You may wipe down keyboards and mouse before using if you wish…don’t rely on someone else to sanitize the area for you.<\/li>\n
  6. Computer log ins – passwords for alvacc users on computers are alvacc and the computer number displayed on bottom left corner of monitor such as alvacc01.<\/li>\n
  7. If prompted, do not run any updates on the computers.<\/li>\n
  8. Only use Chrome for a browser during Career Center.\u00a0Do not change any settings within Google Chrome.<\/li>\n
  9. You will use Gmail and Google Drive within the browser to login but do NOT use the Chrome profile button<\/span><\/em>. Confusing I know but there is a difference in what happens to the saved bookmarks.\u00a0Do not log in to any Apple iCloud, Mac Mail or other personalization accounts except Google Drive (Sheets, Docs, etc.) and Gmail. Everyone uses the same Mac user account so please do not customize the user account to your settings which means do NOT add you Google profile setting.\u00a0 Do NOT change the Apple ID, Microsoft User or Adobe User account\u00a0 or computer setting<\/span><\/em>s. Are you able to log in to the Google Drive folder I created for you?<\/li>\n
  10. The Career Center is website \u2013\u00a0www.nwtech.edu\/alvacc\/<\/a>. I will have announcements each week for you to refer to for instructions on the activities and necessary websites.<\/li>\n
  11. \u00a0OkCollegeStart will be used for career exploration and ICAP activities this year. Virtual Job Shadow has been used the last few years for career exploration and ICAP activities but is no longer available.<\/li>\n
  12. Personal Financial Literacy – Starts on Wednesday, September 4<\/span><\/em>. See list below for those who\u00a0 need to attend.<\/li>\n
  13. Learning Styles<\/span><\/em> – Students will complete a learning styles activity – http:\/\/www.educationplanner.org\/students\/self-assessments\/learning-styles.shtml<\/a>.\u00a0 I will share the results with your instructor. I will be requiring you to print a copy<\/em> <\/span>of the results which include your first and last name. I will also have you create a PDF file<\/span><\/em> that you will store in a designated location on the computer.<\/li>\n
  14. WorkKeys testing –\u00a0Students will complete three ACT WorkKeys Career Readiness exams – Graphic Literacy, Workplace Documents, and Applied Math. For more information, visit\u00a0http:\/\/nwtech.edu\/alvacc\/workkeys\/<\/a>.<\/li>\n
  15. Assessments & Credentials – Students will complete assessments such as Certiport, ODCTE, PLTW, and ASE within Career Center.<\/li>\n

  20. Personality Styles – In the near future, students will complete a personality styles activity that I will share with their instructor.\u00a0 \u00a0The Personality Style Inventory I will use is 16Personalities.com.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Personal Financial Literacy<\/h3>\n

    The following students will need to report to Career Center on Wednesday, September 4, at the designated time. Students in Oklahoma are required to have documented knowledge of 14 units of personal financial literacy in order to earn an Oklahoma high school diploma.\u00a0 The required units can usually be completed within 4 to 6 sessions during the Fall semester (not offered in Spring semester).\u00a0 If a student misses a session, the student must attend the designated makeup session if wanting to complete this requirement through NWTC.<\/p>\n
