{"id":704,"date":"2019-01-08T22:30:09","date_gmt":"2019-01-09T04:30:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nwtech.edu\/alvacc\/?p=704"},"modified":"2019-01-09T08:54:19","modified_gmt":"2019-01-09T14:54:19","slug":"practical-nursing-1-09-19","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nwtech.edu\/alvacc\/practical-nursing-1-09-19\/","title":{"rendered":"Practical Nursing &#8211; 1.09.19"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Practical Nursing students will attend Career Center on Wednesday (January 9) instead of Thursday this week.\u00a0\u00a0We will try to complete some the following activities today.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certification:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>What were your scores for the three WorkKeys assessments?\u00a0 How do those scores compare to the profile for your desired career?\u00a0 We will analyze and answer those questions in part by completing the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/nwtech.edu\/alvacc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/WorkKeys-Completion-Assignment.docx\">WorkKeys Completion Assignment<\/a>.\u00a0 I have added a copy of that MS Word file to the folder I have created for you and shared with you on Google Drive.\u00a0 You will need to open that file in Google Docs and complete all sections.\u00a0 I will review with you where to find the information.\u00a0 Upon completion of the assignment, you will print one copy for me after being sure to save a copy in the shared Google drive.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Resumes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We will review the <a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/VUPBTXAzL0Q\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Best Way to Write a Resume by Job Genius video<\/a> at the top of the Resumes page &#8211;\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0 (<a href=\"http:\/\/nwtech.edu\/alvacc\/resumes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/nwtech.edu\/alvacc\/resumes\/<\/a>) &#8211;\u00a0 of the Career Center website and provided below.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VUPBTXAzL0Q\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Each student will need to create a resume in an easy to read professional format.\u00a0 You should include a heading at the top of the resume that includes full name, full address, phone number and email address.\u00a0 Sections of your resume may include qualification summary, education, licensure, work experience, additional skills, professional memberships, community activities, honors and awards, and references.<\/p>\n<p>I will put some sample resume formats in the shared Google drive for you to use if you wish.\u00a0 Be sure to use formatting that allows the reader to easily distinguish between the different sections.\u00a0 Proofread your final copy.\u00a0 Sometimes it is easier to download a document and work in Microsoft Word and then re-upload to the Google Drive than utilize Google Docs.\u00a0 You may choose whichever method is easiest for you.<\/p>\n<p>Links to sample resumes are available on the\u00a0Resumes page &#8211;\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0 (<a href=\"http:\/\/nwtech.edu\/alvacc\/resumes\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">http:\/\/nwtech.edu\/alvacc\/resumes\/<\/a>) &#8211;\u00a0 of the Career Center website.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Practical Nursing students will attend Career Center on Wednesday (January 9) instead of Thursday this week.\u00a0\u00a0We will try to complete some the following activities today.
