{"id":4769,"date":"2021-10-28T09:00:08","date_gmt":"2021-10-28T14:00:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nwtech.edu\/alvacc\/?p=4769"},"modified":"2021-10-28T09:09:39","modified_gmt":"2021-10-28T14:09:39","slug":"practical-nursing-10-28-21","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nwtech.edu\/alvacc\/practical-nursing-10-28-21\/","title":{"rendered":"Practical Nursing ~ 10.28.21"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><h3>Welcome to the NWTC Career Center!<\/h3>\n<p>Normal Career Center sessions for Practical Nursing students will be Friday at 1:30-2:15 pm.<\/p>\n<h3>What will you do in Career Center?<\/h3>\n<p><strong>Learning Styles Inventory<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Each person learns in a unique way.\u00a0 Research suggests there are three basic\u00a0learning styles.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Visual\u2013 people who prefer to learn by seeing and reading<\/li>\n<li>Auditory\u00a0\u2013 those who prefer to learn by speaking and listening<\/li>\n<li>Kinesthetic\u2013\u00a0individuals who prefer to learn by\u00a0touching and doing<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>It is important for students to identify their unique learning style or combination of styles in order to help reach their full potential.<\/p>\n<h4><strong>ACT National Career Readiness Certificate<\/strong><\/h4>\n<div class=\"vc_row wpb_row vc_row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-12\">\n<div class=\"vc_column-inner \">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element \">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<p class=\" \">The ACT National Career Readiness Certificate is an industry-recognized, portable, research-based credential that certifies essential skills needed for workplace success.<\/p>\n<p class=\" \">This credential is used across all sectors of the economy and documents the following cognitive skills:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Problem-solving.<\/li>\n<li>Critical thinking.<\/li>\n<li>Reading and using work-related text.<\/li>\n<li>Applying information from workplace documents to solve problems.<\/li>\n<li>Applying mathematical reasoning to work-related problems.<\/li>\n<li>Setting up and performing work-related mathematical calculations.<\/li>\n<li>Locating, synthesizing, and applying information that is presented graphically.<\/li>\n<li>Comparing, summarizing, and analyzing information presented in multiple related graphics<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"vc_row wpb_row vc_row-fluid\">\n<div class=\"wpb_column vc_column_container vc_col-sm-12\">\n<div class=\"vc_column-inner \">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<div class=\"wpb_text_column wpb_content_element \">\n<div class=\"wpb_wrapper\">\n<p><strong>Assessments<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Individuals can earn the ACT NCRC by taking three WorkKeys\u00ae assessments.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Applied Math \u2013 For more information about the Applied Math assessment \u2013\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.act.org\/content\/act\/en\/products-and-services\/workkeys-for-educators\/assessments\/applied-math.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">click here<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Graphic Literacy \u2013 For more information about the Graphic Literacy assessment \u2013\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.act.org\/content\/act\/en\/products-and-services\/workkeys-for-educators\/assessments\/graphic-literacy.html#scrollNav-3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">click here<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Workplace Documents \u2013 For more information about the Workplace Documents assessment \u2013\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.act.org\/content\/act\/en\/products-and-services\/workkeys-for-educators\/assessments\/workplace-documents.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">click here<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each of the assessments listed above has a maximum time limit of 55 minutes. Additional time may be required prior to and after the assessments for registration, an examinee tutorial, and\/or printing a score report.<\/p>\n<p>WorkKeys assessments measure real-world skills that employers believe are critical to job success.
