You should have your username and password stored in the Career Center Shared Folder in Google drive in the Accounts and Passwords sheet I created for you.\u00a0 If you followed the format I requested\u2026 your username will be in the form FirstLast-nwtc and your password will be your six digit number representing the month, day and year (last two digits) of your birth date.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>I have added all three of\u00a0 the following documents to your Career Center Shared Folder on Google Drive.\u00a0 If you had started one or more of these documents and stored them in a folder in the Documents folder on the classroom computer hard drive I have uploaded them to your Career Center Shared Folder on Google Drive.\u00a0 Open the files in Google Docs to start and or complete the forms!\u00a0 Don\u2019t open them from the hard drive!\u00a0 I want to be able to check them thru Google Drive!\u00a0 As you complete each assignment, you may try to print them to the printer in the Career Center office and place the information in sheet protectors and put in your black portfolio binders.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Today you will need to work on the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>iCAP Planning Document 1<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 You will need to use information from your OkCareerGuide assessments and account to complete all the questions.\u00a0 Some of you may have already completed this file a couple of weeks ago.\u00a0 Be sure you have answers for each question box as well as dates completed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>iCAP Planning Document 2<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 You need to select a career that you are seriously interested in for this assignment\u2026 it may or may not be one of the careers that were available to you in the results from the assessments with OkCareerGuide.\u00a0\u00a0<em><strong>This is where you start doing some serious thinking about what you may be interested in as a career!!<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0 We will revisit this document throughout the year and build on this information so put some thought to it!! If you are planning on going to college this where you research to see if the degree you want or need is actually offered at the college you want to attend. I want specifics!!\u00a0\u00a0<strong><em>In #8, just enter your goals in the Google Doc instead of entering them into OkCareerGuide! If you are not going to college\u2026. this is where you outline your plans of how to get from the end of this year to employment in your chosen career field!\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>If a question does not relate to your chosen career, you may put \u201cNot needed\u201d in the box; however\u2026.. I better not see every box with \u201cNot needed\u201d typed in it!<\/li>\n<li><strong>iCAP Planning Document 3<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 This is where you start working on the planning, building, and\/or editing a resume.\u00a0 Some of you already have a resume started.\u00a0 Be sure to place a copy of that resume in the Career Center Shared Folder I created for you in Google Drive.\u00a0 You may even be able to copy some of the information from your resume and paste it into this document.\u00a0 High school scholarship resumes differ from work resumes.\u00a0 We will be discussing the differences in the future.\u00a0 If you don\u2019t have a resumes\u2026 be sure to answer all the questions in this document. If you do have a resume\u2026 be sure to place a copy in that shared folder and answer the questions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>WorkKeys Assignment<\/h3>\n<p>You should have also taken all three of the\u00a0<strong>WorkKeys assessments<\/strong>.\u00a0 I have placed a Score Report file in the Shared folder on the Google Drive for each of you.\u00a0 So how do your scores relate to occupations you are interested in?\u00a0\u00a0To find out more about specific careers and their skills requirements, check out the\u00a0<strong>ACT **\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.keytrain.com\/link\/profile-search.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">job\u00a0profiles\u00a0database<\/a>. **<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Based upon your results and your interests, select one career from the\u00a0<strong>**\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/profiles.keytrain.com\/profile_search\/search.asp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ACT job profiles database<\/a>\u00a0**<\/strong>\u00a0and complete the\u00a0<strong>WorkKeys Completion Assignment<\/strong>\u00a0that I have put in your Career Center folder in Google Drive.\u00a0 Open the MS Word file as a Google Doc in order to complete the assignment.
