Do you have a passion for community development, historic preservation, and creating a thriving downtown? Cherokee Main Street is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and visionary leader to serve as our next Executive Director.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Primary Responsibilities<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Lead the implementation of the Main Street America Four-Point Approach\u00ae<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Execute Board-approved strategic plans and annual work plans<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Coordinate committees, volunteers, and community stakeholders<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Manage budgets, financial reporting, grant compliance, and organizational records<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Develop sponsorships, memberships, grants, partnerships, and fundraising initiatives<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Serve as liaison with the City of Cherokee, businesses, property owners, community organizations, and state partners<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Plan and execute downtown events, promotions, and marketing campaigns<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Support historic preservation, beautification, business recruitment, and economic vitality initiatives<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Maintain Main Street accreditation requirements and reporting<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Track economic impact, business development, reinvestment, volunteer hours, and program outcomes<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Supervise contractors, interns, and volunteers<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Coordinate daily office operations, including phone calls, email correspondence, and providing exceptional customer service<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Minimum Qualifications<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Experience in nonprofit management, business, public administration, community development, or a related field<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Excellent communication, organizational, fundraising, and leadership skills<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Ability to maintain a visible and active presence in Downtown Cherokee. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
