Why\u00a0Learning Styles<\/strong>\u00a0Matter<\/h2>\n

Are you in school now? Or you are a working professional trying to pick up a new skill to advance in your career?<\/p>\n

Do some topics\u00a0come more easily<\/span>\u00a0to you than others? Until now you probably thought it had to do with the topic itself, but we have found that in almost all cases that is not true. The difference is how we are taught. If you learn better by doing (kinesthetic<\/a>) then you need to do something or use a skill to learn it. If your learning style is more\u00a0visual<\/a>\u00a0then you may do better from video courses. Maybe audio books are the best option for if you are\u00a0auditory<\/a>.<\/p>\n

How about your\u00a0personality<\/span>? Did you know that your personality type also has a large effect on how you learn? An\u00a0extrovert<\/u>\u00a0will do better in a group setting, while the\u00a0introvert<\/u>\u00a0generally learns better by themselves. Some people learn better under with clear goals, while others learn better in when they feel emotionally vested in the outcome.<\/p>\n

Each person learns in a unique way.\u00a0 Research suggests there are three basic\u00a0learning styles.<\/p>\n

  1. Visual<\/strong>\u2013 people who prefer to learn by seeing and reading<\/li>\n
  2. Auditory<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 those who prefer to learn by speaking and listening<\/li>\n
  3. Kinesthetic<\/strong>\u2013\u00a0individuals who prefer to learn by\u00a0touching and doing<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    It is important for students to identify their unique learning style or combination of styles in order to help reach their full potential.<\/p>\n

    Visual Learners will enjoy: Pictures, Maps, Videos, PowerPoint Presentations,\u00a0Reading, and Mind Maps.<\/p>\n

    Auditory Learners will enjoy:\u00a0Discussing, Listening, Film, Verbal Instructions, Repetition, and Question\/Answer Sessions.<\/p>\n
