If you have to create an account, use northwest-alva as the student code. After you have signed in to your account click on your profile icon (top right) and select \u201cMy Dashboard\u201d.\u00a0 Then scroll down the page to the bottom right corner to view the Ignition Program options.\u00a0 Select \u201cResumes and Interviewing 101\u201d and take the online quiz.<\/p>\n<h3>Resumes<\/h3>\n<p>Have you created a resume in an easy to read professional format?\u00a0 You should include a heading at the top of the resume that includes full name, full address, phone number and email address.\u00a0 Sections of your resume may include qualification summary, education, licensure, work experience, additional skills, professional memberships, community activities, honors and awards, and references.\u00a0\u00a0Be sure to use formatting that allows the reader to easily distinguish between the different sections.\u00a0 Proofread your final copy.\u00a0 Sometimes it is easier to download a document and work in Microsoft Word and then re-upload to the Google Drive than utilize Google Docs.\u00a0 You may choose whichever method is easiest for you.\u00a0 Links to sample resumes are available on the\u00a0Resumes page \u2013\u00a0\u2013\u00a0 (<a to\u2026..<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong><em>Put a copy of your resume in stored in the Google Drive folder I have created for you!\u00a0 Do not \u201cshare\u201d your resume with me from a different folder.\u00a0 You may need to download it and then drag it into that folder I created but have a copy of your resume stored in the folder I have shared with you.<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Put the most important sections towards the top of the resume.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Put most recent information within the section at the top of the section.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Include certifications such as WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate (if you scored at least a three or higher on the WorkKeys tests)<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Include Northwest Technology Center (not Alva Votech\u00a0 or Northwestern Technology Center) and your program name in the education section.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><strong><em>Include National Technical Honor Society in the organizations if you were inducted this year and\/or last year.<\/em><\/strong><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Use an easy to read font but not the standard Times New Roman that many other people may use.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<li><em><strong>Ask me to look over your resume before printing your final copy.<\/strong><\/em><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Be sure to include the following sections if applicable:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Objective or Summary (To attend Northwestern Oklahoma State University and obtain a Mass Communications degree before pursuing a career in Marketing.)<\/li>\n<li>Education (High school and Northwest Technology Center and includes dates of attendance and city and state of school)<\/li>\n<li>Work Experience (Include name and city and state of company, job title, dates of employment and job duties as bulleted items)<\/li>\n<li>Certifications (WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate for example)<\/li>\n<li>Honors and Awards (National Technical Honor Society, sports awards, perfect attendance awards, student of quarter award)<\/li>\n<li>Extracurricular Activities (include activities within those)<\/li>\n<li>Community Service\/Volunteer considered as a candidate for that job.\u00a0 Applications may need to be completed online or downloaded then completed using software such as MS Word or Adobe Acrobat.\u00a0 Some applications can be sent electronically while other companies prefer a printed copy.\u00a0 The\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/youtu.be\/VUPBTXAzL0Q\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Best Way to Write a Resume by Job Genius video<\/a>\u00a0provided above provides tips for completing a job application.\u00a0 Download the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/nwtech.edu\/alvacc\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/01\/job-application.pdf\"
