Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Energy Transfer, has an opening at Alva, Oklahoma plant for a Repairman.

As an entry-level Repairman you will be trained in Panhandle Eastern’s Pipe Line Company’s Safety, Operation, and Maintenance procedures related to plant and pipeline facilities and equipment. Responsibilities include the performance of predictive & preventative maintenance tasks on natural gas compression, auxiliary equipment, generators, air compressors, pumps, valves and pipelines, etc.; investigating encroachments on pipelines and completing necessary reports; assisting in the maintenance and repair of the pipeline.

Qualified candidates should possess a high school education or equivalent.  Candidates should have the physical abilities required to perform the essential elements of the position including shoveling, painting, heavy lifting, working in extreme high and low temperatures and general manual labor. Possession of a current driver’s license is required. Preferred qualities include a strong mechanical background, working knowledge of engines, electric motors, compressors, valves and other pipeline equipment as well as the ability to read and understand piping schematic, drawings and operating procedures. The successful candidate will also be expected to progress to a semi-skilled position within six months and a skilled position within two years.

The successful candidate for this position must live within 40 miles of the plant which is located at 42589 Grady Road, Alva, OK. The starting hourly pay is $24.25 per hour with the potential to earn up to $40.00 per hour within 18 months. This position does require overtime on occasion and the candidate is subject to call out during off duty hours including the weekend.
