This scholarship is available to adult students who are Oklahoma residents enrolled in a program at a Career and Technology Center. Applicants must submit applications online.
- Amount: Varies
- Deadline: Each technology center district may impose its own deadline for its respective students. Students at the NWTC Alva Campus must have applications completed by February 10, 2023 unless additional time is granted by Mrs. Sonja Williams.
- Prior to starting the Application, students should download and complete the Otha Grimes Worksheet – Fall 2022
- For students: Students should then download the Instructions before completing theApplication.
- The Enrollment Key for Northwest Tech students is wh4mpn and it is to be entered in the big box on the first page of CTYOU.org labeled Enrollment Code.
Information needed in the past included:
- All sources of financial aid and scholarships. You may need to get this information from Mrs. Sonja Williams, Financial Aid Director.
- Amount of tuition and fees for your program which is dependent on full time or part time status. Tuition and fees is listed on the NWTC website at https://nwtech.edu/student-services/financial-aid-tuition/ or by looking at individual program or career option pages which you can get to from https://nwtech.edu/classes/career-programs/alva-campus-full-time-programs/. Except for Practical Nursing, Tuition is currently $2.00 per hour for in-district adult students and $4.00 per hour for out-of-district adult students. There are 85 days of instruction in the Fall 2022 semester. Fees are $0.50 per hour.
- Mileage to and from the Alva Campus.There will be 90 days of instruction in the Spring 2023 semester.
- The NWTC Alva Campus calendar is available at https://nwtech.edu/about-nwtc/calendars/.
- You will have to calculate the number of miles you drive from home to the Alva Campus (1801 11th Street, Alva, OK) if you wish to submit mileage. Remember that is doubled if you drive to and from within a day. It is easiest to use Mapquest – https://www.mapquest.com/directions – to calculate this and then it is verified and not an estimate.
- You will use the IRS Standard Mileage Rates for 2023 to calculate mileage which is currently $0.655 for 2022. So you would take # of days x miles per day round trip x 0.655 to get the amount you are submitting for mileage (if you choose to include mileage).
