Personal Financial Literacy:  Do you still need to meet the requirement Oklahoma graduation for Personal Financial Literacy?  Check with Mrs. Frascht for the schedule.  Personal Financial Literacy class starts next Wednesday (September 18)!!

Portfolios:  Throughout the year I will have you print items or results of your work and place those items in a portfolio which is basically a black binder that we will keep on the shelves in the classroom until you have completed your program.  Returning students… ask Mrs. Frascht for you portfolio from last year which should be on the shelves in the classroom.  New students… ask Mrs. Frascht for a notebook and the label maker so you can start a portfolio.

Two weeks you should have completed the Learning Styles Inventory and Assessment (Google form). You should have saved the results as a PDF file on your computer and then uploaded it to the shared folder I created on the Google Drive.  This week you will print a copy of the Learning Styles Inventory results and place in a sheet protector and then place in  your portfolio (black binder on the shelves).

Last week you created an account with OkCareerGuide and started/completed the following assessments:

  1. Kuder Career Interests Assessment: This assessment connects students top interests to career paths.  Students rate how much they would like or dislike each activity. When students are finished with the assessment, their highest interests will be matched with careers that they may enjoy. Upon completion of this assessment, a report is generated which lists five “Top Career Pathways” based on the students responses.
  2. Kuder Skills Confidence Assessment: This tool assessed what students believe they are good at doing.  Students rate how confident they are that they can accomplish each activity. When they are finished, they review the skills they have and explore careers that need those skills.
  3. Super Work Values Inventory: Students rate how important work-related values are to them. When they are finished, their values will be matched with careers that they may enjoy.

Your assessment results will show you what your interests, skills and work values are and how to apply them to a career plan for your future.  Print the One Page Report the includes the results from the three assessments listed above.  Include this report in you portfolio.

I have added a MS Word file named iCAP Planning Document Part 1 to the Shared Folder for Career Center on the Google Drive.  You will need to download this MS Word file and save it to your folder in the Documents folder on the hard drive of the computer you are using.  Enter the requested information as you complete the iCAP planning activities using the OK Career Guide you create.  Returning students will complete the activity and MS Word document using the account they created last year.  There is a link to the OK Career Guide website under the Enhancement menu.  When completed, print the iCAP Planning Document Part 1 and place in your portfolio and upload the finished document to the Shared Folder on Google Drive (unless you edited it in Google Docs).
