Virtual Learning Assignment ~ 2.16.21
Last week I had you find a job opening you would like to use for the creating of your cover letter. You may view last week’s virtual assignment at the bottom of this post.
This week, I want you to email me the answers to the following questions. Some of the answers from last week should be concerned when you answer the questions this week. These questions are intended to have you brainstorm ideas that you can incorporate into your cover letter which you will create once we meet again in person.
- What is the job position you are applying for?
- What skill have you acquired (technical, design, software, etc) that will be required or beneficial in this position? Be very specific. Provide three examples of skills.
- What personality traits (try to think back to your 16Personalities.com activity) do you have that will be beneficial in this position? Be very specific. Provide three examples of traits and explain why those individual traits would be good for you and your employer in this position. Feel free to Google personality traits if needed to gain ideas.
- What previous job experiences do you have that are related to this position? Explain how those individual job experiences will help you in this next job role.
Previous Virtual Learning Assignment ~ 2.09.21
Mrs. Schanbacher had posted the following assignment for you for last week.
What do you want to do after completing your training and education? We have spent time this year trying to discover what career you are interested in. Everyone should have completed a resume. One of the next steps in the job application process is to write a cover letter to submit with your resume and application if needed. You will not need to complete any assignments in VirtualJobShadow.com today; however, you will need to find information about a job that you would possibly be interested in applying for if you had all your training complete (pretend you have all the training from the tech center as well as any additional education such as college). You will need to email me (tfrascht@nwtech.edu) the URL of the website that has the job posting or information as well as the name of the position, name of the company, address of the company, and job description. Again, you will not be working in Virtual Job Shadow but you will need to find a job opening that we can work with next week when we work on cover letters.
If you have questions, you can email me at tfrascht@nwtech.edu.
