    Some particular scholarships of interest:

    Ragland Family Education Foundation Scholars Program ~ Due 3.15.25

    The purpose of the Ragland Family Education Foundation Scholars Program is to provide financial assistance to Oklahoma high school graduates who would otherwise find it difficult to finance a college degree. The program is specifically focused on students who want to pursue a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM).
    Be sure to read details as to which majors do not qualify for assistance.  Quoted from website: “While we have high regard for these fields of study, our scholarship program is not intended for degree programs in the medical services field (including, but not limited to, veterinary medicine, nursing, dermatology, speech therapy, physical therapy and/or nurse practitioners).  However, medical research fields such as biomedical chemistry are included.”

    The scholarship program intends to grant up to $5000 each in scholarship awards to qualified and deserving students. 2025/26 awards will be announced in May 2025. To date, the scholarship program has awarded over $560,000 in grants to students in Oklahoma.

    *Security Benefit Strength in Benefit Scholarship* ~ Due March 7

    A one-time $2,000 ($1,000 per academic semester) scholarship to a student who plans to pursue a certified degree in education or in an occupation that directly supports the educational system and meets the following criteria:

    • Graduating high school senior
    • A resident of the state of Oklahoma
    • Pursuing a certified degree in education or directly supporting the educational system
    • Letter of recommendation
    • Letter of application

    *Ann Wade Scholarship* – Due March 7, 2025

    Oklahoma ASBO is will grant a one-time $2,000 per year ($1,000 per academic semester) scholarship to a graduating high school senior who plans to pursue a certified degree in education or in an occupation that directly supports the educational system. The student must be from a school district that is a member of OKASBO.

    The Oklahoma ASBO board of directors is proud to establish this scholarship in Ann Wade’s name to honor her for her many years of dedication to the Association.  Ann was very instrumental in getting the Security Benefits Strength in Education Scholarship established many years ago.  The board of directors feels this is a fitting tribute to Ms. Wade’s many years of tireless work in public education.  Thank you, Ann!!

    The OKASBO board of directors will choose the honoree based on their application, accompanying letter and a letter of recommendation.

    Criteria

    • Graduating high school senior
    • Resident of the state of Oklahoma
    • Pursuing a certified degree in education or directly supports the educational system, including (but not limited to) Teaching, School Administration, Child Psychology, Occupational Therapy
    • Letter of recommendation from school administrator, teacher, coach, or other civic leader.
    • Letter of application
    • School district must be a member of Oklahoma ASBO

    Frances Koop Parsons/AT&T Pioneers Memorial Scholarship ~ Due 3.21.25

    This scholarship program was established through the AT&T Pioneers to assist Oklahoma students in obtaining their educational goals. The recipients of this scholarship will receive a $1,000 cash award to be used at an eligible Oklahoma career technology center, two-year college, or four-year university. This scholarship is open to first-time freshmen with at least a 3.0 high school GPA and whose family income does not exceed $75,000. The 2025-26 application is available online and must be submitted on or before March 21, 2025 at the following link: https://app.smartsheet.com/b/form/eb968d906cc246719283b6dc66ce712d.

    Speak Out for Workplace Safety Video Contest 2025

    The Oklahoma Department of Labor, in partnership with the Oklahoma Safety Council, invites students in grades 9–12 to participate in the 2025 Speak Out for Workplace Safety Video Contest.  Why Enter? 1) Raise awareness about workplace safety for teen workers. 2) Compete for cash prizes for the top three winning videos! 3) Have your video featured in future young worker safety projects.  Eligibility: 1)Open to all students currently enrolled in an Oklahoma high school (grades 9–12). 2) Students may enter individually or as part of a team.

    Submission Guidelines:

    • Videos must incorporate the theme “Speak Out for Workplace Safety” and address a workplace health and safety topic in any industry.
    • Videos must be original, no longer than 90 seconds, and submitted in one of the following formats: MPG4, MOV, MP4, AVI, or WMV.
    • Submit your video on a flash drive, along with a completed entry form, postmarked no later than March 10, 2025.

    The Engebretson Foundation Scholarship – Due March 1, 2025

    The Engebretson Foundation is in the process of seeking a high school senior to receive a one-year $10,000 per semester scholarship. All applicants mus:t be a graduating high school senior, plan to attend a four-year college, have achieved a score of 28 composite or higher on the ACT exam and achieved at least a 3.75 GPA or above and/or be in the top 5% of their graduating class.  For more information visit https://www.engebretsonfoundation.org/application.html

     

    Gene Belcher Scholarship – Due March 1, 2025
