The Ayn Rand Institute – Anthem
Deadline: April 28, 2022
Students in 8th-12th grade may participate. Awards include: one 1st place award of $2,000; three 2nd place awards of $500; five 3rd place awards of $100; 25 finalist awards of $50; 50 semi-finalist awards of $25. Students must select from one of three topics listed on the website and write an essay. Essays will be judged on whether the student is able to argue for and justify his or her view – not on whether the Institute agrees with the view the student expresses. Judges will look for writing that is clear, articulate and logically organized. Winning essays must demonstrate an outstanding grasp of the philosophic meaning of Anthem.

E-waste Scholarship
Deadline: April 30, 2022
This scholarship winner will receive a $1,000 award. The purpose of this scholarship is to help you understand the impact of e-waste and what can be done to reduce e-waste. You must be a high school freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior or a current or entering college or graduate school student of any level. Home schooled students are also eligible. There is no age limit. You must also be a U.S. citizen or legal resident. Complete the application form including a 140-character message about e-waste. The top 10 applications will be selected as finalists. The finalists will be asked to write a full length 500- to 1,000-word essay about e-waste.

May Scholarships

Leavitt Machinery (LM) Scholarship Program
Deadline: May 1, 2022
To be eligible, applicants must be currently enrolled or expect to be enrolled in a degree program (2 years in length or greater) by September. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, be a U.S. resident or Canada resident and must also attend a school in Canada or the US. Applicants must submit an essay outlining a situation they have been involved in or someone they know has been involved in where better safety procedures would have prevented injury. They must explain, in detail, what safety procedures should have been in place and how they would have prevented the injury.

Pureland Supply Vocational and Skilled Trade Scholarship
Deadline: May 1, 2022
Pureland Supply has been selling high quality replacement projector lamps to various universities, schools, and government entities since 1997.  We understand the importance of skilled trades in our society and appreciate those who learn and perform specific trade, craft or labor occupations. The $500.00 Pureland Supply Scholarship is available to students who have been accepted to an accredited trade school, vocational college, technical school or community college for the study of trade, craft, or labor occupations. Recipients are chosen on their ability to describe how their chosen trade or field plays an important role in today’s world and why this is the path they have chosen.

Society of Women Engineers Incoming Freshmen Scholarship

The SWE Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to women studying baccalaureate or graduate programs, in preparation for careers in engineering, engineering technology and computer science. In 2021, SWE awarded nearly 290 new and renewed scholarships valued at more than $1,000,000.

OSLS Scholarship Program

The Oklahoma Society of Land Surveyors Scholarship program will provide financial assistance to those applicants who are seeking a career as a Registered Professional Land Surveyor. Scholarships will be awarded to successful applicants who have demonstrated talent and achievement in the areas of leadership, citizenship and genuine interest in land surveying. The amount of the scholarship awarded may vary depending on number of applicants.

This Scholarship is available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any postsecondary institution. There is no age restriction. Fifth Month Scholarship

One is the loneliest number. Three is a crowd. Then there is five. What’s so special about five? Well, for starters, this lucky number could help you win a $1,500 scholarship. Applicants must be 14 years old and be a legal resident of the U.S. They must submit an essay of 250 words or less explaining why the number 5 is important. The essay can be serious or funny.

Jane Austen Society of North America Essay Contest

JASNA conducts an annual student Essay Contest to foster the study and appreciation of Jane Austen’s work. Several hundred students compete for scholarship awards each year. Three scholarships will be awarded for $1,000, $500, and $250.

Abbott & Fenner are committed to helping those who have the desire and ambition to succeed. The A&F Scholarships are available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited postsecondary institution. To apply for this $1,000 scholarship, applicants must submit an essay over the following topic: Describe your educational career and life goals. Explain your plan for achieving these goals. Include your degree/major, why you selected it and how this degree/major will help you achieve your goals. The essay should be between 500 and 1000 words.

BigSun Scholarship

The BigSun Organization is proud to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. In order to do their part, they are offering a $500 scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in. The student must be a high school senior or be attending a post-secondary institution. Applicants must write a short (500-1,000 word) essay on how participating in sports during high school influenced them, if it has influenced their career goals, and has their participation influenced on how they relate to their family.

Automotive Hall of Fame Scholarship
Deadline: June 30, 2022
The program has specific scholarships for incoming freshmen and upper-level undergraduate students. All of the scholarships are based on financial need and with the usual minimum GPA requirement of 3.0. To be eligible for a scholarship you must: (1) Submit a completed application form indicating a sincere interest in an automotive career; (2) Provide an official transcript of all academic work; (3) Submit two letters of recommendation supporting your automotive interests; (4) Submit a letter of acceptance for an associate, bachelor, or master’s program; (5) Be accepted at an accredited college, university or trade school within the United States at the time of application; (6) Students attending a technical training school may also apply (trade school should equal a two-year associate program); (7) Student must be a United States citizen or in the United States on a Student Visa; (8) Must be enrolled full-time; (9) Must have 3.0 GPA or higher.
