OERB Scholarship

Oklahoma Energy Rescources Board (OERB) awards up to $500,000 to students majoring in petroleum-related fields. Maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.75 (on a 4-point scale) and be enrolled full-time in one of the following undergraduate petroleum-related programs: Petroleum Engineering, Geoscience or Energy Management at University of Oklahoma (OU), Oklahoma State University (OSU) or Univerity of Tulsa (TU); or Petroleum Land Management at Oklahoma City University (OCU).

Varsity Tutors Scholarship

Varsity Tutors holds a monthly $200 college scholarship contest where students must write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is subsequently chosen to receive the $200 college scholarship.

Horatio Alger Oklahoma Scholarship Program

This program specifically assists high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. The scholarships are funded by Horatio Alger Members who, like the Scholars, have experienced challenges but ultimately overcame them to become successful business and civic leaders. To be eligible for the $10,000 scholarship, applicants must be enrolled full time as a high school senior and be planning to enter a college in the United States in the fall following graduation.

Coca-Coca Scholars Foundation Scholarship

The Coca-Cola Scholars Program scholarship is an achievement-based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors. Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, as well as their commitment to making a significant impact on their schools and communities. With the 33rd class in 2021, the Foundation has provided over 6,450 Coca-Cola Scholars with more than $75 million in educational support.150 Coca-Cola Scholars are selected each year to receive this $20,000 scholarship.

The George Montgomery/NRA Youth Wildlife Art Contest

Regeneron Science Talent Search

The Regeneron Science Talent Search is the nation’s oldest and most prestigious science and math competition for high school seniors. Applicants must be enrolled in and attending his or her last year of secondary school and be completing high school courses required for college admission. 300 students will receive a $2,000 award. 40 finalists will receive awards ranging from $25,000 to $250,000.

Elks National Foundation Most Valuable Student Competition

The 2021 Most Valuable Student scholarship contest is open to any high school senior who is a U.S. citizen. Applicants will be judged on scholarship, leadership, and financial need. Ranging from $1,000 to $12,500 per year, Most Valuable Student scholarships are for students pursuing a four-year degree, on a full-time basis (minimum of 12 semester hours), in a U.S. college or university. Student Photography Scholarships

Founded in memory of James Alan Cox, a television photojournalist, The James Alan Cox Foundation for Student Photojournalists aims to provide financial support to student photographers of high school and college age. Through a variety of funding, including equipment purchases and scholarships for college and technical school classes, the foundations mission is to expand educational and developmental opportunities for student photographers demonstrating interest, talent and financial need. Five digital cameras will be awarded to high school students. Five $2,500 scholarships will be awarded to college or technical students and one $2,500 scholarship will be awarded to a graduate student.

The Hagan Scholarship Foundation

The Hagan Scholarships are intended for high achieving students who will require financial assistance in order to attend college. These students must graduate from a public high school located in a county having fewer than 50,000 residents. Hagan Scholars currently attend 236 different colleges and universities. Each Hagan Scholarship will help pay the unmet financial need of the recipient, up to $6,000 each semester.

Barbara Lotze Scholarships for Future Teachers

The AAPT Executive Board offers scholarships for future high school physics teachers. These scholarships, supported by an endowment funded by Barbara Lotze, are available only to U.S. citizens attending U.S. schools. Undergraduate students enrolled, or planning to enroll, in physics teacher preparation curricula and high school seniors entering such programs are eligible. Successful applicants receive a stipend of up to $2,000 and a complimentary AAPT Student Membership for one year. The scholarship may be granted to an individual for each of four years.

Luigi Wewege Foundation

The Luigi Wewege Foundation scholarship was created with the belief that everyone who has a desire to attend, should be able to attend college or university. By answering a simple essay question, applicants will have an opportunity to be granted a $1,500 scholarship. The foundation committee will select a winner by the end of December. Applicants must be high school students who have been accepted into a college or university or currently enrolled in a college or university.

National Space Club Scholarship

Since 2013, The National Space Club and Foundation has offered the opportunity for a student to give the keynote address at the National Space Club and Foundation’s annual Goddard Memorial Dinner, one of the space industry’s most prestigious gatherings. The student must intend to pursue a career in the Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) fields, be academically strong and excel in public speaking. In addition to speaking at the Goddard Memorial Dinner, the individual selected will also receive a scholarship, in the amount of $10,000. This scholarship is awarded to a U.S. citizen, and is open to seniors in high school through graduate students studying at an accredited educational institution in the United States, who have definite plans to pursue a career in the STEM fields.

This scholarship is open to all current and prospective community college students.
