Health Careers ~ 4.14.20

Greetings!!

Unfortunately with our 2019-2020 NWTC school year COVID-19 situation, we did not get to finish all the planned Career Center activities in person during Career Center time.  Most, but not all, of you completed a resume and cover letter. Some students also  completed a  job application in addition to other activities throughout the year.

We did not get to cover job interviewing information or work with the online The Perfect Interview website activities.  If you need assistance with preparing for a job interview, please contact me and I will try to help you prepare for your interview.  You may also visit https://nwtech.edu/alvacc/interviews/ for tips and tricks. There is also a link available that you may use to set up your own account for The Perfect Interview and then practice answering sample job interview questions.

I have tried to copy files from the Career Center computer hard drives to the appropriate Google Shared Drives for any students whose work was saved in folders within the Documents folder on the hard drives.  If you know you saved your work to any other folder or location on the hard drive of the Career Center computers, please let me know so I can locate that information and copy it to the Google Drive folder I shared with you since we will most likely have new computers in Career Center next year and the files stored on the hard drives will not be available in the future.

If you will not be returning to NWTC next year and wish to have your portfolio (black binder with work), please email me (tfrascht@nwtech.edu or alvacc@nwtech.edu) and I will leave it by the front office area and you may pick it up.  If you will be returning to NWTC next year, I will keep your portfolios and we will continue to add it them next year.

If you earned a ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certificate, I will be mailing the original certificate (not the copies in your portfolio) to you.

If you need assistance with resumes, cover letters, job applications, job interview skills, etc., please let me know and I will try to assist you.

Hope you are doing well with online learning activities and staying healthy!

Have a great day.

Mrs. Frascht
