Collision Repair ~ 9.20.19

At this point you should have completed the Learning Styles Inventory and Assessment (Google form).  You should have created a PDF and saved it in the Shared folder in Google Drive as well as the folder on your computer hard drive.

You should have also taken all three of the WorkKeys assessments.  I have placed a Score Report file in the Shared folder on the Google Drive for each of you.  So how do your scores relate to occupations you are interested in?  To find out more about specific careers and their skills requirements, check out the ACT job profiles database.

This week you will be creating an account with OkCareerGuide and take the following assessments:

  1. Kuder Career Interests Assessment: This assessment connects students top interests to career paths.  Students rate how much they would like or dislike each activity. When students are finished with the assessment, their highest interests will be matched with careers that they may enjoy. Upon completion of this assessment, a report is generated which lists five “Top Career Pathways” based on the students responses.  Students should click the “Print Report” button to create a PDF file (ask instructor for help) which will need to be saved to their Shared Google folder that the instructor has created for them.
  2. Kuder Skills Confidence Assessment: This tool assessed what students believe they are good at doing.  Students rate how confident they are that they can accomplish each activity. When they are finished, they review the skills they have and explore careers that need those skills.
  3. Super Work Values Inventory: Students rate how important work-related values are to them. When they are finished, their values will be matched with careers that they may enjoy.

Your assessment results will show you what your interests, skills and work values are and how to apply them to a career plan for your future.

I have either added a MS Word file named iCAP Planning Document Part 1 to the Shared Folder for Career Center on the Google Drive or provided you a link to the MS Word file and save it to your folder in the Documents folder on the hard drive of the computer you are using.  Enter the requested information as you complete the iCAP planning activities using the OK Career Guide you create.  Returning students will complete the activity and MS Word document using the account they created last year.  There is a link to the OK Career Guide website under the Enhancement menu.
